Send your used clothing to Haiti

On Saturday Feb. 27 the kids at Prince of Life Lutheran Church will be collecting gently used clothing for shipment to Haiti. The event will run from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. at 13896 Meyers Road. They will also be accepting donations of bar soap and toothpaste.

Eastham School could be new home of Oregon City Public Library

The city is looking into purchasing the school and remodeling it into a library. There will be a public hearing on March 3 at 7 p.m. where folks can learn more about the idea and offer input.

Assault charges dropped against Clackamas River Water official

Board member Katherine Kehoe was accused of assault after allegedly hitting a man with a beer bottle in a bar fight in October. The charges have now been dropped, according to a report in The Clackamas Review.

TriMet holding open house on proposed service cuts

Disabled man's modified hunting vehicle stolen

OREGON CITY, Ore. - Thieves robbed a wheelchair-bound man of a specialized vehicle that helps him get back to his passion - hunting.

Sean Powell and his father discovered their modified utility terrain vehicle was missing Sunday evening. They say someone hooked a chain to the gate holding the vehicle and tore it down.

The father and son spent a year outfitting it to hold Sean's wheelchair, harnesses and a customized rifle rest.

Get your 2 cents in on TriMet's budget cuts

TriMet is being forced to cut $27 million dollars from next year's budget and that means fare increases, hiring freezes, longer wait times and the elimination of several low-use bus lines.

The budget is being finalized and you have a chance to weigh in. There will be two open houses this week:

  • Room C at the Portland Building in downtown Portland - 4:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m.
  • Pioneer Community Center in Oregon City - 4:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m.

There will be more question and answer sessions next month.
